Local author Vernon Harris announces book signing of Vietnam inspired time-travel thriller at Grassroots Books.

“A journey must be taken, a place discovered, and a mystery solved in Dark Side of the Looking Glass.”

RENO, NV, July 21—Local author Vernon Harris of Reno, NV will be signing his novel, Dark Side of the Looking Glass ($28.95, ISBN 978-1-4917-1691-5 iUniverse Publishing), the first in the ‘Dark Side Trilogy’, at Grassroots Books on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 2-5:30pm. The author will be reading selections from his work. Dark Side of the Looking Glass is his first novel.

Dark Side of the Looking Glass follows Sam Michael, a man suffering from terrible nightmares, the victim of a relentless incubus. On the eve of his fiftieth birthday in 1995, he is struck by a car and falls into a coma only to have his tortured mind transported back to Vietnam in 1965. Sam must now survive a horrific war he had long ago escaped; worse, in the dream, he is wounded. In order to awaken and return home, Sam must complete an unknown mission. The ruthless incubus would keep Sam in its power forever, but Sam’s life is within his own grasp, if only he can escape the war a second time.

Harris, a retired architect and former missionary who has traveled extensively throughout North America and West Africa, has been working toward publication for several years. Originally from rural Grady County, Georgia in the unincorporated community of Bold Springs, he has lived in Reno, NV with his wife Joanne since 2002.

Grassroots Books is located in Central Reno at 660 E. GROVE ST. RENO, NV 89502 (775) 828-2665 (828-BOOK).
