Vernon Harris grew up on a farm in rural Grady County, Georgia in the unincorporated community of Bold Springs—without electricity or indoor plumbing. A hand-dug well provided “drinking” water. An outhouse was remotely located. The house had kerosene lamps, fireplaces, a wood-burning stove, and an icebox. Vernon is a basic man deriving pleasure from the simple things of life—like reading a good book; he believes our natural resources are to be treasured and protected.
Vernon is a retired architect and former missionary who has traveled extensively throughout North America and West Africa. Studies in French, a career in architecture, and past international work as a government military specialist, bring depth and vision to his first novel.
Vernon currently resides in Daytona Beach, Florida.
